We aren't allowed to represent places we've never seen.

It was a lot of bullshit. I offered to fill out the paperwork to make you an official envoy to my city, but that was a no. I tried arguing that having more representation for a universe means more opportunities to do well on a mission, but she said it's the quality that matters, not the quantity. Apparently it doesn't matter how many missions we go on.

In her words, "All of you will be here for exactly the amount of time necessary for Echo to decide, regardless of how many missions you complete."

Makes me really want to punch Echo.

[Jayce doesn't respond immediately. It feels like an arbitrary rule, one meant to punish more than have a valid reason. So if that's the case, quality mattering more, then teamwork really wasn't that vital, was it? As long as someone from Runeterra did well enough, everything would be fine. But the quantity still does matter in the probability factor- if say, Jinx was the one pulling her weight for them all, if Jinx "returned" to Runeterra, then someone else could step up. The same doesn't apply for Accelerator.

But what could he do about that? Not much. But he can try his hand at being reassuring.]

Maybe that works in your benefit. If you're returned to your own universe, and you’re the only one here from it, Echo has decided to save your world. It could mean you’ve succeeded.

[It's infuriating for Accelerator. He still doesn't think the logic checks out and there's nothing he can do about. It's why his next text to Jayce is more than a little frustrated.]

Hey. No one's failing anyone, Ace. We still don't know why people "leave" without cause, or what happens if anyone "comes back," right? We don't even have evidence yet that confirms without a doubt what we're told is happening, is actually happening. This is still a good thing to find out. We're feeling out the rules they provide, and we'll see how we can bend them later.
