[She shakes her head.]

You would have said something, if that were the case. You wouldn't have run off to Zaun without telling me you were leaving. You would have known I'd never stop looking for you. Youโ€” you would have said something to your mother.

[Even if there were a reason he didn't want to tell her, surely he wouldn't have left his mother in the dark. No, she knows whatever happened to him, it couldn't have been entirely of his own volition.]

Jayce, Iโ€”

[Every day, she wakes up and sees Noxians in the streets of Piltover. She hears the heavy footfalls of a Noxian warlord in her home. She goes to sleep cold and alone and she's tried, she's tried, to find some semblance of solace in another girl's arms, but she missesโ€” She's ruined the bestโ€”

Her mother would know how to fix all of it. She would know what to do. But her mother is dead and now Caitlyn is supposed to know, and she doesn't, she doesn'tโ€”]

It will all be easier, once Jinx is captured. Then I'll be able to... to end martial law and the Noxians will have no cause to stay.

[Unless they stay because Councilor Medarda is still missing. Why would Ambessa leave when her daughter's fate remains unknown? But it will be easier to find Mel once Caitlyn is no longer so focused on Jinx, just as it will be easier to find Jayce.

She never spent much time with Mel Medarda, but she remembers the hand on her shoulder, a kindness that felt genuine amongst the sea of meaningless platitudes that had swept over her in the days following her mother's death.]

I'll figure out what happened to Councilor Medarda, too. Once Jinx is taken care of, I'll be able to fix everything.
